Sue Whitten is an International Mission Board (IMB) missionary assigned to the area of Santa Cruz Bolivia.
I first met Sue at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where we were both students. She worked for the College of Undergraduate Studies and I was an adjunct faculty member teaching computer classes. I first knew Sue as she was involved in scheduling the students for my classes. Our seminary relationship continued as we both graduated and moved into our future ministries.
After graduation, Sue became a missionary to the people of Santa Cruz, Bolivia. I also became pastor of a Southern Baptist Church where I began a commitment to introduce churches to the missionary ministry of Sue. In that commitment, I have been able to also introduce these churches to being active in support of IMB missions.
As a result of this commitment, partnerships were formed where children and adults of the churches I served collected ministry items for Sue's Bolivian ministry and a team was sent to assist in the Market Ministry. This commitment also formed a regular offering that helped fund the building of an education building for one of the Baptist churches that Sue helped and attended.
Her ongoing ministry has produced indigenous teams that minister to the college and professionals as well as the people who live in the jungle areas.
Some of the work can be seen through a pictorial account on the "Mission Bolivia" page of this website by clicking here.
